Should you get the chance to go to Orlando Florida (in the U.S. of A.), firstly take that chance, but secondly if you are into your Lego and have a spare day to go somewhere other than Walt Disney World and Universal (and that is a tough call), you might want to go to Legoland. If you’re staying near International Drive and don’t have a car, you might choose to use coach transportation to get there – which is what I did. There is a really cool shuttle pickup near the iDrive360 (a huge Ferris wheel not unlike the London Eye) and to offer some shelter Legoland have helpfully provided a shelter.
I finally got around to building this, which had its own non-technical challenges. For one thing, I know it’s not to scale (see the picture of the original, see below) but also whilst Legoland did try to make the shelter look LEGO-like, there were a number of parts inconsistencies that I just couldn’t replicate.
However, what I would like to point out is that with the exception of the mini me, the flag and the large base plate all the parts for this build came from the Pick a Brick wall at Legoland!
