One of the “aside” challenges in writing the advent story is the background. Being away from home for a few days a week, I don’t have the background cards, so rather than just use the wallpaper I’ve broken out the pens to draw what I need. In most cases I need to quickly draw something up, so I can’t spend a lot of time making sure that the image is “perfect” – just-enough-to-convey-the-scene is often the name of the game.
But sometimes I get a few minutes and get to draw something a little more interesting, like the trees above. Having found “zentangle” as a doodling technique it’s interesting how many times it creeps into landscapes!
