The Prime Meridian (all)

2014-08-03 16.04.45

After my recent trip to the Royal Observatory at Greenwich, I created this little vignette.  The rubber band round the base says “Prime Meridian of the World o’00’00” and the yellow line indicates the Prime Meridian line.  The telescope was included as much of the calculations are based on telescopes, and sextants – the globe is from the Observatory’s gift shop and represents that the line goes round the world.

It was only as I looked at this picture I realised the globe is upside down – but actually it disguises the part that was connected to a keyring!
